We believe that the most delicious, authentic, and inspiring food stories come from within our community.
That’s why Good Food Oxfordshire is thrilled to partner with acclaimed content creator (300k+ followers) and cookbook author Niki Webster (Rebel Recipes) to host a special, free workshop designed specifically for community cooks, community food project leaders, and passionate home cooks looking to share their skills on social media.
This isn’t just about making food look good for likes. It’s about empowering you to tell the vibrant cultural food stories that Oxfordshire needs to hear.
What Will You Learn?
Do you feel like technology and the cost of equipment is a barrier? This half-day, practical session is designed to remove the tech restrictions and boost your confidence, focusing on simple, realistic tips that work in any kitchen or community space using just your phone.
We will also include free tools to take home with you so filming content wherever you can is as easy as possible.
By the end of the day, you will feel confident to:
- Style like a pro: Learn how to plate and style food so it looks natural, full of life, and absolutely mouth-watering on camera. (No expensive props needed!)
- Master your mobile: Understand how to use light, angles, and composition to make your food pop, all using the camera you already have in your pocket.
- Film engaging videos: Capture the movement, texture, and story of cooking in short clips, focusing on techniques that require minimal editing.
- Use and create recipes: You’ll be given a copy of our Cooking Toolkit as a starting point to be inspired to create your own twists on sustainable, healthy, and waste-free dishes anyone can try.
- Share your food heritage: Create authentic, high-quality food content that successfully shares culturally rich (and engaging) recipes, helping enhance cooking skills across the region, and connect communities with food.
