Along with over 100 organisations and businesses in Oxford he has pledged to work towards fairer, healthier and more sustainable food for the city.
‘I am delighted to be able to give my support to Good Food Oxford in order to promote and make Oxford a healthier and more sustainable city, by signing the Oxford Good Food Charter. Food has a huge impact on Oxford’s carbon footprint and the health and wellbeing of its people, and that is why I am personally committed to try and waste less food, source food more locally and eat less meat’.
The Lord Mayor met with Charis Sharpe and Hannah Jacobs from Good Food Oxford’s steering group, to talk about the work that organisations and businesses across the city have been doing to improve Oxford’s food system, and plans for the upcoming Oxford Pumpkin Festival to reduce food waste at Halloween.
