Overview of Organisation Good Food Oxford is a multi-stakeholder network dedicated to improving the environmental sustainability of Oxford’s food system. Good Food Oxford highlights and supports the work being done by a diverse collection of organisations in the city, as well as pushing forward new initiatives. The aim of Good Food Oxford is to identify and catalyse actions by individuals and organisations that will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with Oxford’s food system while promoting environmental sustainability, social inclusion, health, wellbeing, the local economy and a thriving food culture.

Overview of Pumpkin Festival The Pumpkin Festival is the brain-child of Hubbub, a national organisation working to find new ways to engage the mainstream with sustainability issues. Their projects are delivered at a local level (with local delivery partners), but the impacts of these projects are national. This project will be a pumpkin-themed festival happening in Oxford over the Halloween period, involving many different groups and partners. The festival will engage people in Oxford in fun and creative ways with the issue of food waste. Oxford’s community groups, schools, restaurants etc will all play a part. The festival aims to contribute to ongoing local efforts to reduce food waste and ensure that any food waste produced is utilised or recycled. The festival will also have impact beyond Oxford – it will be used as a springboard to catalyse debate about food waste nationally, and the festival will be rolled out to other cities the following year.
