If you are looking for the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day and support local businesses this spring, then look no further than the Indie Oxford Spring Market at Tap Social Movement’s Botley taproom on Saturday 9th March, from 10:30 am to 3 pm. It’s a day dedicated to celebrating the brilliance of local indie businesses. The market is a collaborative effort between Independent Oxford and Tap Social Movement, spotlighting the diversity of local businesses and importance of community.  

A Showcase of Local Talent 

With nine years of experience championing Oxfordshire's independent scene, Independent Oxford is geared up once again to showcase the best the county has to offer. The great lineup of stallholders includes such indies as Etta Rain Ceramics, LORDS Fragrance House, Jam Puppy Designs, Custom Made Jewellery, Sally-Anne Stewart Linocut Prints, Sitaarah Skincare, Abingdon Distillery, PROOF Social Bakehouse and more. 

Diverse Offerings 

Attendees can expect diverse offerings, including everything from jewellery, artwork, and prints to ceramics, natural skincare products, gin, chocolate, and unique gifts perfect for Mother’s Day (on 10th March). 

Family Fun and Giving Back 

In addition to the indie stalls, Little Letterbox Learning will be hosting a craft corner for children aged 3 and up, where they can enjoy making masks and bookmarks with proceeds going to Yellow Submarine. 

Food, Drinks, and Good Vibes 

Hosts Tap Social Movement will ensure a fun, friendly, and inclusive experience for all with a range of craft beer, curated wines and non-alcoholic beverages, hand-stretched sourdough Proof Pizza, and assorted fresh bakes from Proof Bakehouse. 

Rosie, from Indie Oxford, expressed her enthusiasm for the market, stating: "Independent Oxford exists to support and promote independent businesses in Oxfordshire, and the Indie Oxford Spring Market is a great way to showcase some of the brilliant businesses in the community. This is a market like no other; it’s fun, quirky, and there’s always a special community atmosphere which makes it a joy to be part of."

What is Independent Oxford? 

Independent Oxford supports and promotes indies businesses in Oxfordshire. It plays a crucial role in fighting for a vibrant and resilient local economy in Oxfordshire by serving as a dedicated membership community for independent businesses. 

Who, why, when?  

Independent Oxford was set up in 2015 by Rosie Jacobs and Anna Munday as a space for indie businesses in the county to find peer support and to create a collective voice for the indie community to promote the benefits of buying local. The thought being that the more people we can encourage to buy indie and local, rather than from big chains, and see the value (and joy!) in supporting and exploring local, the better that is for all indies and our local economy, which benefits everyone.
