We take our due diligence seriously, requiring each producer to complete a comprehensive checklist developed using the Agroecological Assessment Framework. This ensures our network consistently upholds sustainable and ethical practices. Some producers have gone even further by providing detailed insights into their operations. For example, Willowbrook Farm excels in ethical egg production, ensuring animal welfare and environmental sustainability. Similarly, The Missing Bean, Oxford’s original independent coffee shop, sources only direct-trade coffee—paying above the Fairtrade minimum wage. They also source flour for their sourdough from Bruern Farms and other organic Cotswold producers, reinforcing their commitment to local and sustainable sourcing.
If you are a buyer or supplier and would like to join the OxFarmtoFork platform, please contact us at oxfarmtofork@gfo.org.uk
Orders are sent to the producers to pack, and to the zero-emissions logistics company, Velocity Cycle Couriers, to organise collection.
Orders are delivered into the city by Velocity via cargo bike every Tuesday, having been picked up from producers the previous day – ensuring the freshest and best quality produce.
Our food systems are at a tipping point. Farmers, consumers, and the planet are facing challenges that demand urgent action. OxFarmToFork is here to help build a resilient, sustainable food system. See our 'About OxFarmToFork' page for more information.
We are thrilled that a growing number of Oxford University colleges are now sourcing their produce through the OxFarmtoFork platform. Their unwavering support and commitment have been instrumental in helping us get this project off the ground. Thanks to their patience and collaboration during our initial trials, we are now successfully selling a substantial amount of local produce each week. However, our vision extends beyond just colleges. We aspire to bring fresh, locally-sourced produce to schools, hospitals, and other public institutions across Oxfordshire, ensuring that everyone in our community has access to high-quality food. If you are part of a school, care home, or hospital and are interested in participating in our initiative, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us at oxfarmtofork@gfo.org.uk. Additionally, if you know of any establishments that might be interested in joining this project, please let us know. Your involvement can help us make a meaningful impact on local food distribution and community health.
